Ministers also consider it and evaluate it as an option
Without confirming, nor ruling out the option of being a candidate for the 2021 presidential elections, Ecuador’s Vice President Otto Sonnenholzner revealed that President Lenin Moreno did ask him to «be on the ballot», as well as several ministers.
While the President and the Ministerial Cabinet asked him to be a candidate for 2021, his family circle disagrees with this option.
In an interview for a digital media, Sonnenholzner said it is not in his plans to want to be a president
The figures reflect less than 20% acceptance of President Moreno. The vice president said that, “one thing, they are the numbers of the Government and the President. We are individuals and work on a project that is the country, not a political one. ”
To this possible candidacy others are added: the postulation of Guillermo Lasso, Lucio Gutiérrez, Jaime Nebot, Carlos Rabascall and Andrés Páez.
