The admission of people by air remains conditional on the results of PCR tests to rule out the coronavirus.
Once the National Emergency Operations Committee (COE) authorized, since June 1, the resumption of operations at the country’s airports, a total of 28,146 passengers have used the terminals.
Of that number, 17,200 traveled to the United States, Chile, the Netherlands and Spain. Meanwhile, 10,874 traveled in the national territory, as reported by the Directorate of Civil Aviation (DAC).
The national commercial flights with the highest demand were to Guayaquil, Cuenca, Coca, Santa Rosa, San Cristóbal, Loja, Manta and Baltra.
The DAC indicated that after the resumption of operations, 10,499 metric tons of merchandise were also transported by air, especially for export flowers.
He recalled that the entry of people by air remains conditional on the results of PCR tests, in the face of the coronavirus pandemic. This requirement is required of people within seven days prior to the flight.
According to the COE, this requirement will last until July 21 for passengers on domestic flights.
