The call to march against «the illegitimate government of Iván Duque» urges the maintenance of biosecurity measures.
The participants in the March for Dignity and the Colombian opposition released a statement on Wednesday denouncing and rejecting the Iván Duque government, which they describe as «illegitimate».
Likewise, they base their complaint on the alleged links between the president and his cabinet with the drug paramilitarism that systematically persecutes, murders and displaces leaders, leaders, peasant population, social organizations, defenders of human rights and ex-combatants of the FARC-EP, committed with peace.
They summon all citizens to permanent mobilization:
«To retake the street as a legitimate, peaceful protest scene and of fundamental dispute to vindicate the heartfelt and just causes of the Colombians, and against the corrupt establishment and remote from the people»
They ask the government to deal with femicides, rapes, forced displacement, the eradication of illegal crops and basic income.
They also emphasize making claims regarding zero enrollment in university institutions, the humanitarian agreement with armed and pro-peace groups as well as the repeal of the Decree-Law issued by the president, which favors the financial sector and acts against of the interests and life of the Colombian population as a whole.
Another point is that of the US troops on Colombian soil. They also demand to ensure compliance with all agreements made with civil society.
To conclude, they request the entire international community to have a Humanitarian Hearing and the visit of special United Nations rapporteurs to the territories to closely monitor and offer the necessary guarantees to the Colombian social movement and human rights.
