Ecuador reports 665 new infections and 200 more deaths from COVID-19 in one day

Ecuador reports 665 new infections and 200 deaths in the last 24 hours. In total, the country has this September 8, 2020, 110.757 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 10.627 deaths due to this pandemic.

According to the Ministry of Health, there are 110.757 infected, who were confirmed with a PCR test. In addition, 6.869 people died with a positive diagnosis and 3.758 with suspicion of carrying the virus.

At the national level, there are 755 stable hospitalized patients and 377 with a reserved prognosis. In total, there are 1.152 patients admitted in one day. While 44 people were discharged from hospital.

Since the pandemic began, 91.242 patients have recovered from the disease, which represents 83.11% of the total cases confirmed by PCR.

Pichincha registers 136 new infections and 35 more deaths in the last 24 hours. This Tuesday, the most affected province has 25.216 cases of the new coronavirus. Quito adds 128 new infected and amounts to 22.742 cases in the capital.

This week, the Ministry published a new report format, where it only includes data with PCR tests and not with rapid tests.
