The Metropolitan Public Company of Drinking Water and Sanitation of Quito (EPMAPS) called on the inhabitants of the Metropolitan District to consume the vital liquid, exclusively, to cover their basic needs, while the health emergency caused by the coronavirus lasts.
The company registered an overconsumption registered in the last hours in different sectors of the capital.
Public Company technicians are working in fountains, purification plants and distribution tanks to guarantee the service.
“We have registered an excessive use of drinking water because families are taking advantage of it to wash clothes, cars, patios, etc. This affects the reduction of tank levels ”, indicated the deputy manager of Operations, Diego Meneses.
They consider the collaboration of citizens to be indispensable in order not to provoke further affectations, apart from the health emergency caused by COVID-19.
In case the situation warrants it, EPMAPS reminds that it has tankers that would start their operations to supply the water.
