The stoppage at the national level will start from 19:00 – 05:00 and in Guayas it will continue from 16:00 – 05:00
The Government Minister, María Paula Romo, announced on her Twitter account that the curfew, in the context of the state of emergency due to the Coronavirus in Ecuador, will begin at 7:00 p.m. this Saturday, March 21, 2020 at the level national. The exception is for the province of Guayas, there the curfew will start at 16:00.
Romo stressed that this new provision was adopted by the national Emergency Operations Committee (COE) after the increase in infections that were registered nationwide.
It must be remembered that until the afternoon of this Thursday, March 19, 2020, 260 people infected with Covid-19 were registered. Only in Guayas there are 187 cases.
On the other hand, the Minister drew the attention of the authorities of the municipalities of Salitre, Arenillas, Sigchos, Saquisilí and Santa Elena, since «they have tried to block the roads with stone material and / or heavy-load vehicles.»
