90% of Ecuadorians believe that there will be «a strong impact on their economy» due to coronavirus, according to surveys

The pollster Eureka Now reported that in its latest report in March 2020, there are 90% of Ecuadorians who see a «strong impact on their personal economy» due to the situation caused by the coronavirus.

The survey was conducted online from March 15 to 20, 2020, and the sample reached is 1,200 cases, which guarantees an error of +/- 2.4% with 95% confidence.

Among its first results, young people are the least confident that the government will manage to control the emergency.

54% consider that the measures taken by the National Government are good. Those over 45 years of age most approve of these measures.

In addition, 46% trust that the Government will manage to control the coronavirus situation.

As of the morning of March 23, 981 confirmed cases of coronavirus and 18 deaths were registered. Guayas is the province with the most infections (769).

The pollster reveals that there is strong public support for the measures taken by the Mayor of Quito, Jorge Yunda, and the Mayor of Guayaquil, Cynthia Viteri.

86% of Quiteños support the measures of their mayor, while 72% of Guayaquil support the measures of Viteri, who was infected with coronavirus, as well as 3 other mayors of Guayas.
