The establishments that do not have the technological means may use the resources available on the portal of the Ministry of Education.
With the aim of safeguarding the integrity of the entire educational community against the spread of the coronavirus, classes for the 2020-2021 period in the Costa regime will begin on May 4, through digital media. This was announced by the Ministry of Education through a statement.
The Ministry indicated that during the first weeks students will review what they have learned to refresh knowledge and prepare for the learning and skills that they will develop during the new school year. These guidelines will be applied in fiscal, fiscal, municipal, and private educational institutions.
The document warns that institutions that do not have the technological means to implement virtual or distance education will start their activities on May 4 with educational resources available on the website of the Ministry of Education. But they must notify the competent authority about this situation, so that the commitment to comply with the curricular mesh is assumed.
According to the State Portfolio, the purchase of supplies or texts will not be requested until the health emergency is lifted.
Likewise, the statement adds that the institutions that offer International Baccalaureate programs will be able to start their activities from April 23, in the same virtual way. This considering that the dates of the remedial and grace exams of the 2019-2020 school year would be from April 20.
The Ministry of Education recommends that teachers communicate with students and parents through email, videoconferences or social networks.
In relation to the cases of parents and students entering the educational establishments for the first time, the authorities will be responsible for conducting the approach to provide information on the activities to be carried out.
Finally, regarding the payment of tuition and pensions, the governing body of education in the country urges educational centers to provide facilities for the health emergency.
