442 cases of domestic violence in 27 days of emergency, attended the Public Defender

 In 27 days of sanitary emergency, in which home isolation was ordered, the Public Defender’s Office has dealt with 442 cases of domestic violence.

Aurelio O. was sanctioned with a prison sentence of 20 days and a 25% fine of the Unified Basic Salary, for assaulting his son Paúl O., in Tungurahua. This case is one of 442 of Domestic Violence.

From March 17 to April 12, this entity that sponsors the legal defense free of charge, reported that the main crimes dealt with in this emergency are: failure to comply with legitimate decisions of the competent authority with 787 cases, intra-family violence 442, right to property 328, transit 223, production or illicit trafficking of controlled substances 190 and others.

In total, 2,061 cases were attended to in this emergency period, in which the main provision is home isolation. Of this number, 1,653 hearings have been held.

The hearings have been conducted electronically, to protect the health and integrity of officials and users.
