The AMT fined 364 drivers in one day.
Despite the fact that Quito remains at a red light because of the pandemic, citizens are at a green light, so only this Monday, May 18, the Metropolitan Transit Agency (AMT) sanctioned 364 drivers for violating the calendar circulation and the misuse of safe conducts.
During the health emergency, 12,991 vehicles were fined for disrespecting the restriction and 3,099 motor vehicles were detained for breaking the law.
In the streets of the city there is a high flow of vehicles whose plates do not correspond to their day of movement, as well as cyclists who occupy the exclusive trolley lane. This occurs despite the fact that last week the AMT indicated that the control operations will be reinforced.
Even informal merchants offer food, gloves and masks on public roads.
The contempt fine depends on the number of times you have committed it. Likewise, the vehicle will be held and transferred to a retention center, where it will remain for five days.
