There are 17 people deprived of their liberty with coronavirus in Ecuador

Four of them were transferred to a hospital due to complications in their health.

After confirming that they were infected with COVID-19, 17 people deprived of their liberty at the Riobamba Social Rehabilitation Center were isolated.

This Tuesday, the Chimborazo Government reported that 13 people deprived of their liberty remain isolated in adequate cells to face the disease.

Meanwhile, four people were transferred to two medical centers in Riobamba, due to their symptoms.

Luisa Loza, governor of Chimborazo, indicated that a medical team monitors the health of patients at the prison center.

She added that in the face of the pandemic, welfare houses are ready to house infected people if their health is complicated by the symptoms.

She maintained that in the General Hospital there are 68 beds available and that care is guaranteed.
