Half a ton of drugs seized in Pedernales

The drug traffickers used satellite devices to collect the drug that was thrown into the sea. Two people are detained.

Half a ton of drugs was seized in an operation carried out by Naval Intelligence and the Anti-Narcotics Police in Pedernales, Manabí province.

As a result of this incursion, two people were arrested and it was discovered that the drug that was going to be sent to Central America was hidden on the beach in the La Cabuya sector.

After a series of investigations, at least a dozen bags with the drug blocks were found, but what caught the attention of the authorities is the discovery of two satellite devices.

Eusebio Rodríguez, commander of the Marine Corps, indicated that the drug was leaving the speedboats to the high seas. At a certain point they dropped the cargo into the water with a satellite buoy and then withdrew. Hours later, another ship arrived at the marked point, because a code was issued that made it easier for the drug to be collected and then taken to Central America.

Police Colonel Fausto Tamayo explained that the alkaloid came from Colombia through clandestine steps and that the value of the seized would reach USD10 million.
