Ecuador reports 1,066 new infections and 19 more deaths in the last 24 hours. In total, this August 14, 2020, the country registers 99,409 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 9,580 deaths due to this pandemic
According to the Ministry of Health, 99,409 infected are reported, of which 90,453 were confirmed with a PCR test. In addition, there are 6,030 deaths with a positive diagnosis. To this figure are added 3,550 deaths that probably died with suspicion of carrying the virus.
Regarding the situation of the infected hospitalized, 912 are stable and 343 with a reserved prognosis. In total, there are 1,255 hospitalized patients, while 219 people were discharged from hospital.
Since the pandemic began, the government report indicates that there are 66,099 recovered patients, who have been admitted to the surveillance system with at least one positive RT-PCR test, at least 29 days have passed since the date of onset of symptoms and are alive . This indicator is updated every Sunday.
Pichincha reports 315 new infections in the last 24 hours. In total, the province most affected by the pandemic in the country, has 19,851 infected. Quito registers 307 new cases and the number of infected rises to 17,992.
This August 14, 1,066 new infections were reported nationwide, being the third consecutive day with more than a thousand cases in one day.
