February inflation in Ecuador was -0.15% according to INEC

The monthly inflation in February 2020, compared to January 2020, was -0.15%, according to the results of the Consumer Price Index (CPI), carried out by the National Institute of Statistics and Census (INEC).

The measurement was carried out in Quito, Guayaquil, Manta, Machala, Loja, Esmeraldas, Ambato, Cuenca and Santo Domingo de los Colorados, based on 25 350 data collected monthly from 359 products.

Recreation and culture lead the monthly incidence by consumption division, followed by food and non-alcoholic beverages.

He adds that on the cost of the Basic Family Basket (CFB), last February it was $ 713, while the monthly family income of a type household was $ 746 67, which represents 104.72% of the cost of the CFB. (C.D.A.)
