In order to have true data in case of an emergency around the new coronavirus.

For the prevention of Covid19, Ecuador will ask passengers of flights and connections coming from Mexico, Spain and Brazil to complete a health declaration form as part of the sanitary control.

As of Tuesday, March 10, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGAC) assures that the airlines will grant the Traveler’s Health Declaration Form, from the Ministry of Public Health (MSP), to each of the flight users .

The notification of this measure was this Wednesday, March 4, to the 26 airlines operating in the country. «The strengthening of the controls, at the moment, is carried out in a mandatory way to the travelers of the flights and connections that come from Mexico, Spain and Brazil», underlines the entity.

In this form, passengers will record their general and contact information, such as: nationality, country of origin, date of arrival, places visited in the last 21 days, contact numbers, hotel address or address, indicated the Directorate of Civil Aviation .

This document receives the passenger physically inside the aircraft and, when he arrives in Ecuador, they will pass through the modules where the MSP officials are located in the landing zone.

It is very important information for the Ministry of Public Health of Ecuador in order to have accurate data of travelers to locate them in case of an event around the outbreak of the coronavirus.

At the South American level, Colombia and Chile already require these declarations, especially to passengers who come from countries where there are already cases of the outbreak of the epidemic.
