Embassy of Mexico certifies that Prefecta Pabón did not request political asylum or any other type of protection

«This Embassy has no records or records of applications for asylum or any other form of international protection,» they detailed in the document.

The Embassy of Mexico in Ecuador certified that the Prefect of Pichincha, Paola Pabón, did not issue any request for political asylum to this diplomatic headquarters, as the Prosecutor’s Office had stated to request the withdrawal of her precautionary measures.

The Embassy issued a document certifying that there is no antecedent, record or request that this form of international protection has been sought by the Prefect of Pichincha or that someone has made this request on her behalf.

«This Embassy does not have a history or records of applications for asylum or any other form of international protection made by you, or on your behalf by another person,» the document addressed to Pabón details.

Despite the fact that the Mexican Embassy had already issued a statement on its social networks to deny the accusations of the Provincial Prosecutor, Alberto Santillán, about an alleged request for political asylum in this diplomatic headquarters, the judge in this case, Vladimir Jhayya, gave stepped up to this request and called a hearing on Monday, September 7 to review the precautionary measures maintained by Prefect Pabón.

Several politicians, human rights protectors and jurists at the national and international level have spoken about this case and have described it as a political and judicial persecution, since there was never any violation of the precautionary measures by the Prefect Pabón, but they They assure that they seek to imprison her in retaliation for being an opposition policy in Ecuador.
